Spotlight on Sequins

Prom season is upon!  We’ve got TONS of amazing fabrics, and have already been helping lots of people plan their prom outfits.  One of the most popular fabrics this year (and most years, really) is sequin fabric.  With hundreds of different fabrics to choose from, these can be wild and flashy, or elegant and refined. No matter which one you choose, sequins always bring that ‘dazzle’ factor to any dress.

Here are a few of our favorite sequin fabrics for this prom season:

This one is definitely on that elegant, refined side that I was talking about.  This fabric features a leaf pattern in glitters sequins on a sheer mesh, and is a brand new addition to our selection this year.

No sequin post would be complete without mentioning our reversible sequins!  These sequins change color when you flip them over, and have been incredibly popular over the couple years since they came out.

These geometric sequins are the perfect fusion of flash and elegance, and have been seen on red carpets all over the world.  This sequin is on a stretch mesh background, and lends itself well to more fitted designs.

We carry a huge variety in solid micro sequins (pictured above), dangle sequins, and more, in matte, metallic, holographic, and gloss finishes.  Come find the perfect color sequin, and match it with one of our hundreds of silks, satins, brocades, and more, for a one-of-a-kind look.

We’re here to help

All of our sales associates are experienced sewists, and many have made prom and formal dresses themselves.  We’d love to help you find the right fabric and materials, make suggestions, or give you tips to make your vision a reality.  We know a lot of people get nervous sewing with sequins, and I’ll admit, there is a slight learning curve, but the end result is worth it.  Come by the store and talk to one of us about your project today!
